One of England’s greatest cities, Leeds is overflowing with fun-filled family attractions, impressive historic houses and amazing architecture to explore. Most of the city’s attractions offer free admission, and all of the city’s beautiful parks are free to enter, making a day out in Leeds a memorable experience that doesn’t have to cost the earth.

The compact city centre is easy to navigate, with a host of thriving markets and local food produce to discover along the way. Set within glorious Yorkshire countryside, just 7 miles outside of the city centre, a visit to Harewood House and Gardens is not to be missed. Visitors will also be keen to stop off at the Leeds City Museum, which tells the story of this great Yorkshire city in the past, present and future.

Children will be captivated by a visit to Tropical World, which houses a wide range of exotic creatures, including meerkats, crocodiles, butterflies and bats. Meanwhile, the whole family will enjoy the exhibitions on display at the Royal Armouries Museum, which brings history to life with energetic jousting performances and accurate historical re-enactments. Finally, the world class Leeds Art Gallery contains a vast collection of contemporary British art, which is accessible for people of all ages.
