From Stonehenge in the east to the Isles of Scilly in the west, the peninsular of England's west country has so much to offer visitors from historic homes and cathedrals to the natural splendours of its wide-open moorlands and miles of spectacular beaches and coastline.
The two National Parks, Exmoor and Dartmoor, combined with the South West Coast Path, makes this and idyllic destination for walking, cycling and riding.
Perhaps the most well known feature of the region and the reason visitors return again and again, is the coastline. Long sandy beaches make is a family favourite with the added benefit of the widest selection of family accommodation throughout the area. The rise of a superb selection of tourist attractions makes a visit any time of the year great value and great fun.

The Atlantic Ocean not only brings fantastic conditions for surfers, but long before such water sports became popular, the mild climate brought by ocean currents providing unique conditions for the gardens of famous plant hunters and their sponsors to thrive. The area is dotted with the world renowned mainly Victorian gardens, from Wiltshire most famously Stourhead to the many Cornish delights including The Lost Gardens of Heligon, Trebah, Trelissick, Lanhydrock and the most recently The Eden Project, to name but a few.

The West Country's World Heritage
World Heritage sites in these parts straddle the Millennia: There's the pre-history of the Jurassic Coast stretching from the East Devon to West Dorset; The Mysteries and legends which surround Stonehenge and Avebury: The Industrial heritage of Cornish Mining to the splendour of Georgian Bath.
